Purpose Aligned Consulting, LLC is a nonprofit consulting firm based in Denver, Colorado. This statement explains what we do with information you give us through purposealigned.com, and what the site collects on its own. It is written to be read, not to protect us, so if anything here is unclear please ask.
What we collect
What you send us. If you fill in the contact form, we receive your name, your email address, your phone number if you choose to give it, and whatever you write in the message. If you subscribe to the newsletter, we receive your email address. That is the whole list. We do not ask for anything else, and the site has no accounts to create, nothing to buy, and no payments to take.
What the site collects on its own. We use Google Analytics to understand how people find and use the site, which pages get read, and which ones do not. It tells us that a certain number of people arrived from a search for grant writing and spent four minutes on that page. It does not tell us who you are, and we do not try to work it out. Our web host also keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting.
How we use it
To answer you, to talk with you about work you might want us to do, and to send the newsletter to people who asked for it. We use the analytics to decide what to write about and how to make the site more useful. Nothing else.
What we do not do
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else’s advertising. We do not run advertising on this site, and there are no advertising or social media tracking pixels on it. We do not send marketing email to people who did not ask for it, and we do not add contact form enquiries to the newsletter list. If you want the newsletter, you sign up for it yourself.
Who else sees it
Only the companies that run the plumbing, and only for that purpose. Our website and email are hosted by SiteGround, the newsletter runs on Mailchimp, and the site analytics are Google Analytics. Each of them handles the data under their own terms and their own privacy policies. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, which has not happened.
Cookies and tracking
Google Analytics sets a cookie in your browser so it can tell a returning visit from a new one. That is the only tracking on the site. Every browser lets you block or delete cookies, and if your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, that is fine with us, we have nothing to sell and nothing to share.
How long we keep things
Contact form messages and the email that follows them stay in our email for as long as the conversation is useful, and are deleted when it is not. Newsletter subscriptions last until you unsubscribe, which you can do from the bottom of any newsletter. Analytics data is held on Google’s standard retention schedule.
Your choices
Write to us at kerri@purposealigned.com and we will tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. You do not need to give a reason, and there is no form to fill in. Colorado residents have these rights under the Colorado Privacy Act, and we extend them to everybody who asks, wherever you live.
Children
This site is for people running organizations. It is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you think a child has sent us something, tell us and we will delete it.
Changes
If this statement changes we will update it here and change the date at the top. If a change matters, meaning we start doing something with your information that this statement does not already cover, we will say so plainly rather than quietly editing a paragraph.
